Link and unlink a submeter

Gate or master (parent) meters are often linked to a large number of submeters.  Users can link or unlink submeters from gate/master meters, and run a submeter usage report to see gate/master meter usage, the sum of the submeter usage, and any residual amounts.

Link a meter

Click on the Services menu, select the parent meter that you want to link the submeter to and navigate to the Meters tab. 

Scroll down to the Submeters section and click on the Link button.

In the Add Submeters wizard, select the submeter from the dropdown list you wish to link and press Save.  The submeter is now linked to your parent meter.

Unlink a meter

To unlink a submeter from the parent meter, click on the Services menu, select the submeter you want to unlink and navigate to the Meters tab.  Scroll down to the Submeters section, click/highlight the submeter and click the Unlink button.

 Your submeter is now unlinked from the parent meter.

Tip: You can view a submeter usage report to see the parent meter usage, the sum of the submeter usage, and any residual amounts.
