Buildings - add price plans

Utilmate allows you to automatically assign price plans to customers moving into a building based on their customer type and payment method (optional). This helps streamline setup and ensures the correct pricing is applied.

To add a building price plan

Go to the Maintenance menu, Utility Services and select Buildings. Click the Add button in the Building Price Plans section. 

Fill in the following details in the "Add building price plan" wizard screen, then click Save to finish.

• Customer type - select the type of customer this plan applies to.
• Price plan - choose the relevant price plan.
• Default price plan - tick if this should be the default plan for the building.
• Generally Available - tick to include it in the Better Offer calculations.
• Is direct debit - tick if this plan is only for customers using direct debit.

Setting up Direct debit specific price plans

If you want to offer discounted rates to customers on direct debit, Utilmate allows you to create building price plans specifically for direct debit and non-direct debit customers.

When set up correctly, Utilmate can automatically assign the appropriate price plan based on the customer’s payment method.

This setup allows Utilmate to intelligently allocate pricing based on how your customer pays - ensuring eligible customers receive the right rates automatically.

Requirements for Automatic Assignment by Payment Method

To enable automatic price plan assignment based on direct debit, you must set up:

• At least two building price plans per customer type:
  • One for direct debit customers
  • One for non-direct debit customers

To set this up, follow the steps to add a building price plan above, ensuring that:

• One price plan has the "Is Direct Debit" checkbox unchecked (for non-direct debit customers).
• One price plan has the "Is Direct Debit" checkbox checked (for direct debit customers).

Important: Both price plans must have the "default price plan" box checked. The automatic price plan assignment process only applies to default price plans.
