Payment types

Stripe supports the following payment types:

• Direct debit from a bank account, credit card and debit card – these payments are processed as Recurring payments. Direct debit payments are processed against customer records that are set up within Stripes’s system;
• Real-time credit card payments – these payments are processed in real-time as web payments or phone payments. Real-time payments are considered as ‘unknown payer’ transactions within Stripe’s system. The payment reference supplied with the payment is typically used by the client to identify the payer.
