MyAccount Alerts
MyAccount Alerts are an easy way for your customers to eliminate unwanted surprises on their bill. There are two types of alerts:
- Bill Forecast:
Customers receive this alert when the amount due on their monthly bill is projected to go over an amount they have specified. - Usage alerts:
Customers receive this alert when their usage is likely to exceed their personalised daily, weekly, or monthly consumption amount they have specified.
Bill Forecast Alert
An email, text message, or both is sent to your customer when the amount due on their next bill is projected to exceed their last month's bill by the percentage amount set.
The calculations are:
- Multiplying the total read amounts to date by the price rates.
- Adding on the fixed rates.
- Checking if the gross amount exceeds the previous bill sent.
Usage Alert
Daily Alert
An email, text message, or both is sent to your customer when their usage exceeds their previous day's usage by the percentage amount set.
The calculations are:
- Calculating the total usage for the day.
- Multiply total usage with a set percentage amount and compare to the total previous day's usage.
- Email and SMS messages are generated daily at 11am. Check your New and Undelivered SMS Messages and New and Undelivered Email Messages queues to send.
NOTE: Daily alerts are dependent on when meter reads are imported (usually meter reads are imported daily) and calculated on the latest read date.
Weekly Alert
An email, text message, or both is sent to your customer when their usage exceeds their previous week's usage by the percentage amount set.
The calculations are:
- Calculating the total week's usage.
- Multiply total week's usage with set percentage amount and compare to the total previous week's usage.
- Email and SMS messages are generated every Monday at 11am. Check your New and Undelivered SMS Messages and New and Undelivered Email Messages queues to send.
Monthly Alert
An email, text message, or both is sent to your customer when their usage exceeds their previous month's usage by the percentage amount set.
The calculations are:
- Calculating the total month's usage
- Multiply total month's usage with set percentage amount and compare to the total previous month's usage
