Compliance - New Zealand AV and EIEP reports
For New Zealand electricity retailers, Allocated Volume (AV) reports are used for market settlement with the NZX, while Electricity Information Exchange Protocol (EIEP) reports are submitted to electricity distributors to support monthly reconciliation.
Both report types can be generated on demand at any time from Reports menu Compliance, allowing you to produce the required files whenever needed for settlement, reconciliation, or audit purposes.
Official specifications are published on the Electricity Authority website:
- AV reports - Reconciliation Manager and Reconciliation Manager Functional Specification v15.1
- EIEP reports - Electricity information exchange protocols
AV reports
AV-080 - NHH Submission Report
AV-080 — Receive NHH submission information (section 8.7, Reconciliation Manager Functional Specification)
This is the retailer's normalised consumption volume that is fed into reconciliation and ultimately wholesale settlement calculations. In essence:
"This is how much energy we believe our NHH customers consumed during the month."
AV-090 — HHR consumption volumes
AV-090 — Receive HHR submission information (section 8.8, Reconciliation Manager Functional Specification)
Submitted HHR (half-hourly) consumption volumes for market reconciliation. This report is required by the Electricity Authority but is not supported in Utilmate.
AV-110 - ICP Days Report
AV-110 — Receive ICP days information (section 8.10, Reconciliation Manager Functional Specification)
This contains counts of active ICP days by NSP and submission type. The Reconciliation Manager uses it to:
- Check completeness of submissions
- Calculate scaling factors when data is missing
- Compare participant submissions
"How many customer connection-days are represented in this submission?"
AV-120 - Electricity Supplied Data Report
AV-120 — Receive electricity supplied data (section 8.11, Reconciliation Manager Functional Specification)
This report is not used for settlement allocation. Instead, it reflects the actual volume billed to customers. The Reconciliation Manager compares AV-080 submitted volume and AV-120 billed volume to identify billing/submission discrepancies via reports such as GR-130 (Electricity Supplied/Submitted Comparison).
EIEP reports
EIEP1 - Detailed ICP Report
EIEP1 — Detailed ICP billing and volume information
Detailed ICP billing and volume information. Generated monthly for each distributor. Contains:
- ICP details
- Consumption volumes
- Network tariff information
- Billing determinants
- Network charges
Used by distributors to validate and invoice network charges. Almost every retailer generates this.
EIEP4 Report
EIEP4 — Customer information v11.1
Used for certain metering information exchanges. Often generated by MEPs (metering equipment providers) rather than retailers directly.
EIEP13A - Consumer consumption information
EIEP13A — Electricity conveyed information for consumers
A site audit can be run from the Customer, Services screen, Site tab.
Generated when:
- A customer requests their usage data
- A third-party provider is authorised
- Data portability requests occur
Contains:
- Historical consumption
- Metering information
- ICP details
