WorkForce - Field Agent - Edit work order
The Jobs screen in WorkForce allows field agents to view, manage, and update assigned Work Orders directly from their mobile device. Field agents can access job details, record meter readings, upload photos, add technician comments, and update job statuses while working in the field.
To view your Work Orders, log in to WorkForce and select the Sync button to ensure you are viewing the latest information and updates.
Jobs can be viewed by Job status: Open, Completed or Abandoned and filtered by Site Name or Date Required.
Edit a job
To edit a job, select the required row to open the Edit Job screen. Make the necessary changes, then click Save to update the job details.
The fields displayed within the Edit Job screen may vary depending on the selected job type, allowing users to capture job-specific information and requirements.
Is Job Safe?
If a field agent determines that it is unsafe to enter a location, the Is It Safe? option can be toggled off. When disabled, the indicator will display in grey to show that the location has been marked as unsafe or requiring caution.
Important: When the location is marked as unsafe, the field agent must select an Exception reason and can only select Mark as Abandoned to close the job.
General meter read
This is a compulsory field and must be completed before the job can be finalised. A valid meter reading is required to be entered and recorded.
Take photo
Field agents can capture and upload photos directly against a job in WorkForce. Photos can be used to document meter readings, site conditions, completed work, equipment installations, damage, safety concerns, or any other relevant job information.
To take and upload a photo, select the Take Photo button. Field agents can capture a photo using their device camera. Once the photo has been taken, select Add Photo to upload and attach the image to the record. Multiple images can be added to the same record as required.
The uploaded image is stored against the record and can be viewed by office staff and authorised users for reference and review.
If the photo is not required, select Discard to cancel the upload.
Uploading photos helps improve job visibility, supports audit and compliance requirements, and provides a visual history of field activities and site conditions.
Technicans comments
The Technician Comments field allows field agents to record notes and observations relating to a job, site visit, or completed work. Comments may include:
- Work completed
- Site conditions and access issues
- Safety concerns
- Equipment details
- Customer interactions
- Follow-up actions required
Technician comments are stored against the job record and can be viewed by office staff and authorised users to assist with job tracking, communication, and operational visibility.
Exception reason
Field agents can record the reason a job could not be completed during the site visit. This information helps office staff understand the issue, manage follow-up actions, and reschedule the work if required.
Access details
Field agents can update location Access Details by entering or updating the relevant access information for the location.
Mark as completed or abandoned
Once a job has been finalised, field agents must update the job status accordingly.
Select Completed when the job has been successfully finished.
Select Abandoned if the job could not be completed or was unable to proceed.
Updating the job status ensures office staff have visibility of the job outcome and any required follow-up actions.
