Life support
Managing life support information in Utilmate is essential for ensuring customers who rely on critical medical equipment receive appropriate protections and support. By recording and maintaining life support details accurately, energy suppliers can meet compliance obligations, enable correct notifications, and ensure uninterrupted service for vulnerable customers.
Register Life Support
Go to the Customer Details, Life Support menu and select Add Life Support in the Register/Deregister dropdown.
Enter the information below in the Add Life Support wizard. Click on Save.
- Registration Date
- Life Support Status (defaulted to Pending Registration)
- Contact Details
The customer's life support status is updated to Pending Registration.
Note: The system is set to default the Life Support Status to Pending Registration.
Add life support equipment
To add the customers' life support equipment, use the Concession Card screen.
If the customer does not have an existing concession card, a 'No Card Life Support' concession card is added (for the applicable State). The concession card/s are used to apply any Life Support rebates that apply for Life Support customers.
Edit Life Support
To edit the customer's life support details, go to the Customer Details, Life Support menu. Select the row and choose Edit Life Support in the Register/Deregister dropdown.
Enter the below information into the Edit life support wizard screen, than Save.
- Registration date
- confirmation date (date when the customer returned the required life support documents)
- Life support status (Registered only)
- Contact details
Deregister Life Support
To deregister a customer from life support, go to the Customer Details, Life Support menu. Select the row and then choose Schedule Deregistration in the Register/Deregister dropdown.
Enter the below information into Schedule Deregistration wizard screen, than Save. The life support status is updated to Pending Deregistration.
- Schedule deregisteration date
- Deregistration reason
Note: The schedule deregistration date defaults to 14 days in advance of the current day in accordance with regulations. This date can be changed as and when necessary.
Confirm Deregistration
To confirm deregistration, go to the Customer Details, Life Support menu. Select the row and then choose Confirm Deregistration in the Register/Deregister dropdown.
Confirm the registration by clicking on Save. The Life Support status will be updated to Deregistered.
If there are other customers within the building with life support requirements, the success message will notify you.
If the customer has an existing concession card, the 'User on life support' flag will be updated to 'N' and the 'Life Support End Date' will be updated to the deregistration date.
Tip: You can only confirm the deregistration post the scheduled deregistration date.
