What is a treatment?
A treatment is set of credit collection actions that happen if a customer fails to pay an invoice or has an overdue balance.
Although there are many way treatments can be configured, a fairly typical set of treatments are:
STANDARD
This is for all open customers that currently reside in their property and normally has the following steps:
- Reminder SMS shortly after the invoice due date
- Reminder email/letter a few days after the SMS
- Disconnection warning email/letter one to two weeks after the invoice due date
- Disconnection outbound phone call a few days after the disconnection warning notice
- Final disconnection email/letter three to four weeks after the invoice due date
- Disconnection service order raised
CLOSED
This is for all closed customers that DO NOT currently reside in their property and normally has the following steps:
- Reminder SMS shortly after the invoice due date
- Reminder email/letter a few days after the SMS
- Debt collection warning email/letter one to two weeks after the invoice due date
- Debt collection outbound phone call a few days after the debt collection warning notice
- Debt collection listing email/letter three to four weeks after the invoice due date
- Referral to debt collection
OCCUPIER
This is for all occupier customers that have not told you who they are. This treatment cycle is normally based on the occupier account open date rather than any debt amount and normally has the following steps:
- Courtesy Reminder letter (cannot be emailed, as you won't have an email address for them) a few days after the account open date
- Disconnection warning letter one to two weeks after the account open date
- Disconnection service order raised
