Public holidays - add or delete
Public holidays can be viewed and maintained from the Maintenance menu, System Configuration and select Public Holidays. Each public holiday can be recorded against all states ie Christmas Day or at a state level.
Tip: If you choose to have a Christmas brownout period between Christmas Day and New Year's Day, where treatments aren't sent and invoices don't fall due, you'll need to do this before the start of December or as soon as you can. Add in the days you would like to treat as public holidays eg 27/12, 28/12, 29/12.
Add a public holiday
To add a public holiday, click on the Add button.
Enter the below information in the "Add public holidays wizard" then Save.
- District
- Holiday date
- Holiday name
Delete a public holiday
To delete a public holiday, click on the Delete button.
Note: Before the start of each calendar year, Utilmate automatically populates public holidays based on government information. Although it may be worth reviewing, there should be no need to add or delete public holidays.
Public holidays are non-business days and require maintaining in Utilmate for three key reasons:
- Invoice due days are in business days, so any public holiday will impact invoice due dates.
- Treatment schedules are on business days, so any public holiday will impact treatment schedules.
- Some AM timing profiles treat public holidays as shoulder or off-peak so any public holiday may impact AM usage charges.
Warning: This is a maintenance menu item. Please ensure you are familiar with Utilmate and understand the impacts of making changes to Maintenance menu items.
